Job Title: Project Manager Intermediate

Location: Remote
Duration: 6 Months

Project Overview

This role supports multiple initiatives related to a large Medicaid system environment. The Project Manager will collaborate with internal Medicaid IT staff as well as an external university-based Medicaid IT services team. The position involves balancing responsibilities across incident management and project coordination functions.

Key Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the selected candidate will split time between two defined roles: Incident Manager and Project Coordinator.

Incident Management

• Acknowledge, classify, and prioritize incidents based on severity levels

• Follow escalation procedures as outlined in the incident management process

• For Severity 1 or Major Incidents:

  • Coordinate cross-functional response efforts

  • Provide timely updates to stakeholders

  • Support system restoration to full operational capacity

• Prepare and distribute After Action Reviews to leadership, executive management, and stakeholders

• Create and maintain weekly status reports for all open incidents

• Ensure compliance with established incident management standards and processes

Project Coordination

• Act as a liaison between the Project Manager and technical/business teams

• Conduct weekly meetings and provide follow-up status reports related to security risks and operational impacts

• Present production-impacting Change Requests to the Change Advisory Board for approval

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with Medicaid IT service teams and internal project staff

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager

• 5+ years of experience using MS Project

• 5+ years of experience using MS Visio

• 5+ years of experience with Waterfall project methodology

• 3+ years of experience with BMC Footprints (or similar) ticketing systems

• 3+ years of experience with Medicaid healthcare eligibility systems

• 3+ years of experience with release coordination

Preferred Skills

• Experience with incident management processes

• Experience with Power BI

• Experience with SQL

• Bachelor s degree

• ITIL certification(s)
