We are seeking a Senior Agile Coach to support Agile teams within a large, mission-critical and highly regulated environment.
Evaluate Agile maturity, delivery practices, role clarity, team dynamics, work flow, and barriers affecting team performance.
Create targeted coaching strategies for teams at different stages of Agile adoption, from early-stage teams to mature teams needing to improve outcomes, flow, or predictability.
Coach delivery teams on practical Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban practices, including planning, backlog refinement, Sprint Goals, prioritization, WIP management, retrospectives, metrics, and continuous improvement.
Partner with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to strengthen facilitation, stakeholder engagement, backlog quality, value prioritization, dependency management, and delivery accountability.
Help teams incorporate security, risk, controls, governance, architecture, compliance, and operational-readiness needs into day-to-day Agile planning and execution.
Work constructively with stakeholders who may be resistant to Agile adoption or concerned that Agile practices could weaken oversight, documentation, or control requirements.
Promote consistent use of organizational delivery standards and the enterprise Agile playbook while bringing practical industry coaching methods.
Use Jira to improve work visibility, reporting, traceability, workflow management, delivery metrics, and team improvement discussions.
Help establish sustainable practices so teams and internal Agile leaders can continue improving after direct coaching support decreases.
Work in partnership with the Agile Program Manager and cross-functional program stakeholders.
Seven or more years of direct, hands-on experience coaching Agile teams in complex enterprise environments.
Demonstrated experience leading or materially supporting Agile transformation, operating-model improvement, or enterprise Agile adoption efforts.
Proven ability to assess team maturity and delivery challenges, develop tailored coaching plans, and demonstrate measurable improvement.
Strong practical coaching experience with Scrum, Kanban, and/or Scrumban; experience must extend beyond facilitating ceremonies.
Experience coaching Scrum Masters, Product Owners, delivery managers, and stakeholders in complex, cross-functional delivery environments.
Experience resolving Agile adoption barriers, stakeholder resistance, role ambiguity, dependency challenges, or conflicting delivery expectations.
Experience working in a regulated or control-oriented environment, preferably federal government, financial services, banking, payments, insurance, cybersecurity, or another environment with significant governance and compliance expectations.
Strong Jira experience, including boards, workflows, dashboards, delivery metrics, reporting, and traceability.
At least one recognized Agile coaching or advanced Agile credential, such as ICP-Client, CSP, SPC, or a comparable certification.
Strong written, verbal, facilitation, stakeholder-management, and executive communication skills.
