OverviewWe are seeking a System Safety Engineer with strong experience in safety analyses, system-level risk assessment, and cross-disciplinary engineering collaboration. This role supports safety engineering activities across complex hardware, software, and firmware systems within structured development environments. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical background, excellent communication skills, and experience ensuring compliance with safety standards and engineering processes.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant System Safety Engineering experience
- An advanced degree may reduce the required years of experience
- Professional experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
- System Safety Engineering
- Software or Firmware Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Equivalent engineering discipline supporting safety work
- Experience performing safety-related troubleshooting, analysis, and evaluation
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Clearance not required on Day 1; interim or full clearance may be obtained after start
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with combat system or weapon-system environments
- Knowledge of DoD System Safety Programs, including MIL-STD-882
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and proposal development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the use of research and supporting data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide direction to supporting safety personnel
- Experience managing or contributing to safety programs within multi-discipline teams
- Master's degree in a STEM discipline
