Photonics Engineering Technician at Carlsbad, CA Roles & Responsibilities of Photonics Engineering Technician at Carlsbad, CA - Execute fabrication, assembly, integration, test, or inspection processes in accordance with detailed work instructions and drawings, such as:
- Optical Fiber Splicing and Recoating
- Fabrication, assembly, and inspection of photonic circuits
- Mechanical Builds and Assemblies
- Metal Soldering
- Microscopy and Profilometry
- Integration of COTS optical equipment (power meters & monitoring equipment, optical laser sources, etc.) per detailed architecture block diagrams and wiring diagrams
- Assistance with equipment calibration in accordance with vender or custom calibration procedures
- Communicate regularly with management to ensure team is meeting expectations for cost, schedule, and quality.
- Ensure preventative maintenance is performed regularly in accordance with documentation.
- Maintain and operate wire bonding, photomasking, epoxy application, and other systems commonly used for optical device fabrication.
- Maintain high standard for cleanliness, workspace organization, and reliability.
This is a
12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.
What We're Looking For: - Planning, layout, setup, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines.
- Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal or plastics to precision dimensions.
- Able to pin multiple materials together.
- Checks and inspects and builds machining operations against specified tolerances.
- May include work with fabrication, sheet metal operations, or machine hardware and assemblies.
- May also make recommendations concerning use of and improvement upon materials and design.
- Must be familiar with Acu-rite or similar program .
- Need to be meticulous
Pay Range: $50-52/hr. *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
