Summary

Description

Sr ETL Developoer w/ modern Databricks Lakehouse Platform experience. This position will be hybrid in the East Hillsborough County area with 2 days remote per week.

We are looking for a senior data engineering specialist to design and enhance modern data solutions that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational workloads. This role blends deep ETL and database development expertise with hands-on work in the Databricks Lakehouse ecosystem, helping teams build reliable, scalable, and well-governed data assets. The ideal candidate brings strong SQL Server experience, practical knowledge of Databricks technologies, and a collaborative approach to delivering maintainable solutions across business and technology teams.

Responsibilities:

Build, support, and improve data solutions within the Databricks platform, including notebooks, workflows, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog capabilities.

Define and maintain data governance structures by organizing catalogs, schemas, tables, storage volumes, access controls, lineage, and quality expectations.

Create and manage ETL processes for data ingestion, transformation, batch execution, and incremental synchronization across enterprise systems.

Develop repeatable integration patterns, technical templates, and engineering standards that encourage broader adoption of Databricks across applications.

Partner with teams using Databricks Lakebase and PostgreSQL to enable transactional, operational, and analytical data use cases.

Design and maintain AI-driven business intelligence environments using trusted enterprise datasets, semantic layers, user guidance, and sample prompts or queries.

Investigate and resolve issues affecting pipelines, scheduled jobs, workflows, and overall platform performance.

Develop, test, and maintain SQL Server database objects such as stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers to support application and integration needs.

Optimize database performance by refining queries, reviewing execution plans, improving indexing strategies, and addressing locking or concurrency issues.

Contribute to Agile delivery activities by participating in planning sessions, design discussions, code reviews, and collaboration with stakeholders and application developers.

Requirements

At least 1 year of hands-on experience working with Databricks in a production or enterprise setting.
6+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server database development, including advanced T-SQL and stored procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of Databricks Lakehouse components such as Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, notebooks, and workflow orchestration.
Proven ability to build ETL and data integration solutions for data movement, batch processing, synchronization, and application support.
Strong database tuning skills with experience analyzing execution plans, indexing, statistics, blocking, deadlocks, and concurrency behavior.
Working familiarity with PostgreSQL and exposure to Databricks Lakebase.
Experience collaborating with software developers, ideally in a .NET or C# environment, and using Git-based source control with CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of Azure data services and enterprise data governance practices, including security controls, data quality, and compliance standards.
