OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on
Data Center Audit Technician to support large-scale infrastructure environments. This role focuses on
fiber/cabling installation, infrastructure validation, and network auditing within high-performance data centers.
This is a great opportunity for candidates with experience in
fiber optics, structured cabling, and data center operations to work in enterprise environments supporting critical infrastructure systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Auditing & Validation- Perform network audits and infrastructure validation across data center environments
- Verify fiber and copper connectivity across racks, patch panels, and switching equipment
- Conduct circuit tracing and port validation
- Identify discrepancies between installed infrastructure and engineering documentation
- Document findings and support remediation efforts
Fiber & Cabling Installation- Install, route, and maintain fiber optic (SMF/MMF) and copper cabling
- Perform high-volume patching, cross-connects, and MAC work (Moves, Adds, Changes)
- Ensure proper cable routing, dressing, labeling, and organization standards
- Support structured cabling in MDF/IDF and data hall environments
Fiber Testing & Troubleshooting- Perform testing using tools such as:
- OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer)
- VFL (Visual Fault Locator)
- Fluke or TBerd testers
- Diagnose:
- Signal loss
- Faulty connections
- Fiber damage or mis-patching
- Support resolution of connectivity and infrastructure issues
Rack & Equipment Support- Perform rack & stack installations for servers, switches, and network equipment
- Support infrastructure deployment and hardware installation
- Assist with cable management and equipment organization
Documentation & Reporting- Update:
- Cable labels
- Port mappings
- Rack diagrams
- Document:
- Audit findings
- Infrastructure discrepancies
- Completed work and validations
- Work through ticketing systems and follow standard processes
Required Qualifications- Experience with fiber optic cabling (installation, patching, or testing)
- Knowledge of structured cabling systems (fiber and copper)
- Ability to read network diagrams, rack layouts, and cabling designs
- Hands-on experience in data center or similar technical environments
- Basic understanding of networking (Layer 1-2 concepts)
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with:
- OTDR / VFL / Fluke / TBerd testing tools
- Data center experience (AWS, Google, Meta, etc.)
- Experience with:
- cable tracing, validation, or QA/QC
- Familiarity with:
- TIA/EIA standards
- Patch panels, MDF/IDF environments
Work Environment- Onsite, large-scale data center facilities
- Fast-paced, production-critical environment
- Requires:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Lifting up to 40-50 lbs
- Working around live infrastructure

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of New Albany, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
