About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Varicent Developer to help design, build, and support enterprise-scale incentive compensation solutions. In this role, you will partner with business and technology stakeholders to enhance compensation processes, automate critical workflows, and ensure the accurate delivery of compensation programs across multiple lines of business.
You will leverage your expertise in Varicent development, data management, reporting, and automation to build scalable solutions that support complex compensation plans. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, deep experience with incentive compensation systems, and a proven ability to work across the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, configure, and maintain Varicent Incentive Compensation solutions.
- Build and support data integration processes that load compensation, sales, and performance data into Varicent.
- Develop and optimize compensation calculation models, business rules, and payout logic.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics that enable business stakeholders to monitor compensation performance.
- Configure and support workflow processes for compensation administration, approvals, and tracking.
- Manage scheduler jobs and automated processes supporting recurring compensation cycles.
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation solutions for integrations, data transformations, and operational efficiencies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, calculation, reporting, and system performance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to deliver enhancements and production support.
- Support compensation cycle execution, payout validation, reconciliation, and ongoing platform maintenance.
- Consult on complex technical initiatives, contributing to strategic planning, solution design, and delivery execution.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience developing and configuring Varicent Incentive Compensation solutions.
- 5 years of experience designing and supporting enterprise software applications.
- 5 years of experience working within Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Experience with SQL and data management, reporting, and query tools.
- Experience supporting Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) platforms and business processes.
- Experience with:
- Data imports and integrations
- Compensation calculations and business rules
- Reporting and analytics
- Workflow configuration
- Scheduler and job management
- Python scripting and automation
- Experience troubleshooting complex data, calculation, and reporting challenges.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting large-scale incentive compensation programs.
- Experience working with complex compensation plans across multiple business units.
- Knowledge of commission, bonus, incentive, or sales compensation administration.
- Experience with compensation reconciliation, audit support, controls, and data validation processes.
- Experience operating in highly regulated environments requiring strong governance, change management, and auditability.
- Experience within Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, or similarly regulated industries.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive solutions across technical and business teams.
Preferred Candidate ProfileThe strongest candidates will demonstrate deep expertise in leveraging Varicent to support end-to-end incentive compensation operations, including:
- Data imports and integrations
- Compensation calculations and business rule configuration
- Reporting and analytics development
- Workflow administration
- Scheduler management
- Python-based automation
- SQL querying and data analysis
Industry experience in Banking or Financial Services is beneficial but not required. Candidates from any industry will be considered if they possess strong Varicent development expertise and a successful track record supporting incentive compensation programs at scale.
Note: The primary requirement for this role is strong hands-on experience with
Varicent Incentive Compensation solutions. Experience in regulated industries is valued, but demonstrated expertise in Varicent development, compensation calculations, reporting, workflow configuration, data management, and automation is the key success factor for this position.
