Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify required and recommended repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical vehicle malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot engine, mechanical, electrical, and other automotive systems.
- Repair engines and other vehicle components as required.
- Replace defective, damaged, or worn parts and components.
- Examine vehicles for additional safety and service concerns.
- Conduct diagnostic testing using appropriate tools and technical resources.
- Perform test drives to verify repairs and vehicle serviceability.
- Adjust controls and systems as necessary following repairs.
- Follow manufacturer and factory repair procedures and specifications.
- Utilize warranty procedures and available service/parts options to control repair costs.
- Communicate additional repair requirements to the Service Advisor and/or Dispatcher.
- Assist Service Advisors/Service Writers with work orders, test rides, customer interactions, and related service needs.
- Document all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
- Maintain required tools, supplies, and parts inventory.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, efficient, and safe.
- Protect customer vehicles and maintain vehicle cleanliness throughout the repair process.
- Stay current with automotive technology, terminology, repair procedures, and technical information.
- Attend required technical training and company meetings.
- Follow company safety procedures, work rules, confidentiality requirements, and applicable policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of related automotive repair experience in Ford dealership or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical automotive systems.
- Strong background in automotive troubleshooting, vehicle inspections, and repair procedures.
- Experience using technical manuals, OEM repair information, and online technical resources.
- Experience with automotive diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
- Ability to diagnose engine, mechanical, and electrical malfunctions.
- Experience performing quality-control checks and road tests following repairs.
- ASE Certification preferred.
- Ability to work in a safety-sensitive automotive shop environment.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with automotive repair, including prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting with appropriate assistance.
- Ability to work required evening, weekend, and holiday hours when applicable.
