Position Summary
4Consulting, Inc is seeking a qualified Software Developers to support technology consulting, application development, systems analysis, testing, data management, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or project delivery services for client projects. The selected candidate will perform duties consistent with the client’s project requirements and company delivery standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for:
Design, develop, and maintain backend application components using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and related frameworks to support enterprise business requirements and scalable application architectures.
Develop and integrate REST and SOAP services, asynchronous processing components, messaging services, and distributed application interfaces to enable secure and reliable communication across enterprise systems.
Build, test, package, and deploy backend applications across enterprise application servers while developing unit tests, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring code quality and maintainability.
Collaborate with engineering leadership, product teams, and business stakeholders to define technical solutions, optimize database performance, conduct code reviews, and deliver application enhancements throughout the software development lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications
The position requires:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Experience in Java backend development, enterprise application architecture, distributed systems, API development, database integration, and application deployment. Recent hands-on software development experience is required.
Technical Skills:
Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, REST/SOAP APIs, JDBC/JMS, SQL/Oracle, JUnit/Mockito, WebSphere/JBoss
Business / Domain Skills:
Experience supporting enterprise application environments involving business workflows, operational processes, transactional data, and integrated software services.
Experience designing, developing, enhancing, and integrating enterprise applications, APIs, interfaces, workflows, batch processes, and data-processing components supporting government programs.
Experience developing backend services and distributed application components that support business operations, system interoperability, and reliable data exchange across enterprise platforms.
Experience collaborating with product, engineering, business, and technical leadership teams to translate requirements into scalable backend solutions and support application delivery throughout the software development lifecycle.
Communication:
Ability to communicate with technical and business stakeholders.
Documentation:
Ability to prepare project documentation, status updates, and deliverables.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship may be considered where permitted by company policy and project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience optimizing complex SQL queries, database performance, indexing, partitioning, and query execution.
Knowledge of enterprise integration platforms such as DataPower, Mule, or other ESB technologies, along with asynchronous processing and messaging.
Familiarity with Agile development, automated code reviews, technical design leadership, and frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Node.js.
