Location: Jackson, MS
Work Arrangement: 100% Remote.

Project Scope: Intake Enhancement via NLP and Stochastic Decision-Making Systems.

Core Responsibilities

Framework Development: Establish technical task breakouts, milestones, and deliverables for the proof-of-concept.
System Design: Lead the development of a new intake approach using NLP and ML, identifying functional blocks and reconciling architectural trade-offs.
Implementation Oversight: Conduct weekly status updates and gate reviews to mitigate technical and administrative roadblocks.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Participate in workflow discussions to identify process shortcomings and prioritize improvements based on impact.
Proof-of-Concept & Roadmap: Lead design reviews, support conference room demonstrations for stakeholders, and contribute to the long-term technical integration roadmap.

Required Experience & Skills

Academic Background: Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
Federal Experience: Prior participation in US Federal Gov't data science programs (requiring TS/SCI level rigor) delivering geospatial and "Pattern of Life" solutions.
High-Scale Data Engineering: Demonstrable experience building custom programs processing 700M+ records in under 30 minutes on a recurring basis.
Domain Expertise: Proven expertise working with CCWIS data attributes to predict child welfare outcomes, including statistical tuning and attribute selection.
Advanced Modeling: Extensive knowledge of statistical algorithms, machine learning, and adaptive systems.
Algorithm Design: Prior history of building ML algorithms from the ground up and developing optimal non-rule-based decision systems with stochastic inputs.

Professional Competencies

Technical Trade-offs: Ability to evaluate approaches based on collective errors, computational time, and scalability.
Agile Integration: Active contribution to Agile development processes to ensure project success.
Strategic Communication: Ability to document final approaches for transparency and present complex findings to state stakeholders.
