Location: Charlotte, NC (Preferred)
Additional locations: Columbus, OH; Irving, TX; Minneapolis, MN; Chandler, AZ
Duration: 12-Month Contract with Potential Conversion to Full-Time Employment after 6 Months
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Identity Infrastructure Engineer to drive the design, modernization, and operational excellence of enterprise identity services. In this role, you will provide technical leadership across Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, identity federation, synchronization platforms, and Virtual Directory Services (VDS) in complex hybrid environments.

You will partner with security, infrastructure, application, and business stakeholders to build resilient, secure, and scalable identity solutions that support enterprise-wide authentication, authorization, and directory services. This role requires strong engineering expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead large-scale initiatives with significant organizational impact.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise identity platforms.
  • Drive modernization initiatives across Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Microsoft Entra ID, and hybrid identity environments.
  • Design and support authentication, federation, identity synchronization, and directory virtualization solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership for RadiantOne Virtual Directory Server (VDS), including:
    • Directory virtualization
    • Identity data aggregation
    • LDAP federation
    • Identity abstraction
    • Enterprise application integration
  • Develop secure and scalable identity solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate and resolve complex identity and access management challenges.
  • Support enterprise disaster recovery planning, business continuity initiatives, and platform resiliency efforts.
  • Ensure identity services meet security, compliance, risk management, and audit requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence through automation, standardization, and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize monitoring and observability tools to maintain platform health and improve operational awareness.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to technical teams and stakeholders on identity strategy, architecture, and best practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security Engineering, Identity Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience designing and supporting Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and hybrid identity architectures.
  • Strong understanding of authentication protocols and federation technologies, including:
    • LDAP
    • Kerberos
    • SAML
    • OAuth
    • OpenID Connect
  • Experience with identity synchronization and directory integration platforms.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex identity infrastructure issues across distributed environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience administering and engineering RadiantOne Virtual Directory Services (VDS).
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise identity modernization programs.
  • Knowledge of identity governance, access management, and privileged access management concepts.
  • Experience with cloud security and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Understanding of security controls, compliance frameworks, audit processes, and risk management practices.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing technical strategy.
