Description

We are looking for an IT Support Technician to provide day-to-day technical support for a manufacturing facility in Indiana. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the go-to onsite IT resource, helping employees stay productive while keeping local systems and devices running smoothly. The role will work closely with plant personnel and leadership to resolve technical issues, support core business technology, and promote reliable IT operations in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities:
Deliver frontline technical assistance for employees by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and access-related issues across the site.
Support desktop and laptop computers, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other end-user equipment to maintain daily operations.
Manage and update service desk requests, ensuring issues are documented clearly and addressed in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments, including user accounts, device performance, and standard application problems.
Provide support for Microsoft 365 tools and assist with routine administrative tasks tied to user productivity services.
Help maintain local infrastructure by identifying and addressing basic network connectivity issues involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless access.
Keep hardware inventory records and technical documentation organized, accurate, and up to date.
Partner with site leadership and other IT contacts to support stable technology operations within the manufacturing plant.

Requirements

At least 2 years of hands-on experience in desktop support, help desk, field support, or a similar IT support role.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and support Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 support, including common user issues and basic administrative functions.
Experience assisting users with PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
Foundational understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
Ability to work independently, take ownership of onsite support responsibilities, and manage multiple priorities.
Manufacturing or industrial IT support experience is preferred; CompTIA A+, Network+, or familiarity with Ubiquiti UniFi is a plus.
