Technology Exposure Management Engineering
About the Role

We are seeking a ServiceNow Lead Software Engineer to join the Cybersecurity organization within the Technology Exposure Management Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and support of the ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR) module, enabling scalable and secure enterprise vulnerability remediation solutions.

You will collaborate closely with Technical Governance, Platform Architecture, and ServiceNow development teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, security requirements, and best practices. This role includes hands-on development as well as technical leadership and mentorship responsibilities.

This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence 3 days per week at a designated core location.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation and customization of ServiceNow Vulnerability Response solutions using configuration and scripting.
  • Design, develop, test, document, and maintain scalable ServiceNow applications following enterprise standards and Agile practices.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex platform, coding, and integration issues.
  • Guide and mentor less-experienced engineers, providing technical direction and best practices.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet security, compliance, and risk management requirements.
  • Partner with platform engineering, production support, and architecture teams to support deployment and operations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and industry partners to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Develop workflows, scripts, and integrations to automate cybersecurity and business processes.
  • Manage application deployments and production support activities, including L3 support.
  • Own code throughout the full lifecycle, from design through delivery and ongoing maintenance.
  • Maintain technical documentation using tools such as Confluence.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education.
  • 5+ years of experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA) and consulting on enterprise solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience developing applications on the ServiceNow platform.
  • 1+ year of experience with ServiceNow Vulnerability Response.
  • 1+ year of experience with web technologies such as JavaScript (ES5+), HTML, CSS/SCSS, and SQL.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator credential.
  • Ability to obtain ServiceNow Application Developer certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow Vulnerability Response.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification.
  • ServiceNow Vulnerability Response Implementation Specialist certification.
  • Micro-certifications in Service Portal, Automated Test Framework (ATF), Flow Designer, Integration Hub, or related areas.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS or React.
  • 2+ years of experience with RESTful or SOAP web services.
  • 2+ years of Agile development experience.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with security tools such as Qualys, Wiz, NVD, Black Duck, or Checkmarx.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Primary Location: Charlotte, NC
  • Additional Core Locations: McLean, VA; Minneapolis, MN; San Antonio, TX; Chandler, AZ
  • Work Model: Hybrid (onsite 3 days per week)
