Level: Senior Software Engineer (SSE 4 - rate honored per zone)
About the Role

We are seeking a ServiceNow Lead Software Engineer to join the Cybersecurity Technology Exposure Management Engineering team. This role will lead the design, development, and support of the ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR) module, enabling enterprise-scale cyber vulnerability remediation solutions.

You will work closely with Technical Governance, Platform Architecture, Production Support, and ServiceNow Developers to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant ServiceNow solutions that align with enterprise standards and cybersecurity objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation and customization of ServiceNow Vulnerability Response, including scripting, workflows, and integrations
  • Design, develop, configure, test, document, and maintain ServiceNow applications using agreed-upon enterprise standards
  • Act as a technical lead and escalation point for complex, company-wide initiatives with broad impact
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with risk management and cybersecurity standards
  • Resolve complex coding, testing, and platform issues
  • Guide and mentor less experienced engineers and developers
  • Collaborate with platform engineering, production support (L3), and architecture teams
  • Develop and manage REST/SOAP integrations with non-ServiceNow platforms (e.g., Qualys, Wiz, NVD)
  • Manage deployments in partnership with enterprise platform teams
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and deliver solutions within an Agile framework
  • Maintain technical documentation in Confluence
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of Software or Specialty Software Engineering experience (or equivalent combination of work experience, education, military service, or training)
  • 5+ years of experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts
  • 5+ years of ServiceNow application development, installation, or support
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow Vulnerability Response
  • 1+ year of experience with web technologies:
    • JavaScript (ES5+)
    • HTML
    • CSS / SCSS
    • SQL
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
Preferred Qualifications
  • ServiceNow Implementation Specialist - Vulnerability Response certification
  • ServiceNow micro-certifications (Service Portal, ATF, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, etc.)
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, React)
  • 2+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services experience
  • 2+ years of Agile development experience
  • Security tooling integration experience (Qualys, Wiz, NVD)
Additional Expectations
  • Build and enhance ServiceNow applications using low-code and out-of-the-box solutions
  • Automate business processes through workflows, scripts, and integrations
  • Own solutions end-to-end: design, development, testing, deployment, and support
  • Serve as a trusted technical consultant on large-scale, complex engineering initiatives
  • Demonstrate strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Apply deep understanding of cybersecurity, compliance, and enterprise risk requirements
