Summary

Mainframe Storage Admin

Introduction:

The Mainframe Storage Admin will be responsible for managing Mainframe Storage Systems, including both Tape and DASD systems. This role requires expertise in DASD management, tape management systems, storage hardware, and virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities:

8+ years of experience in managing Mainframe Storage Systems
Experience with DASD and VTS/Grid systems (IBM DS8k, TS7k)
Knowledge of tape management systems such as IBM RRM and OAM
Manage virtual tape solutions and configurations
Implement Global Mirror, Global Copy, FDR Software, and ACS Routines
Utilize IBM Utilities like IDCAMS, ISMF, and Dcollect
Support Disaster Recovery within the Mainframe environment
Administer DFSMS and DFSMShsm for storage management
Collaborate with backup/recovery teams on policy and DR readiness
Perform hardware and software updates on Tape and DASD systems
Conduct Data Recovery for Tape and DASD systems
Provide training and mentoring to junior team members
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors
Demonstrate strong problem-solving and coordination skills
