We are currently seeking a leader to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey (US-NJ), United States. About the Role
We are seeking an individual with a strong foundation in both technical AI systems and regulatory frameworks. This role sits at the intersection of machine learning, risk, and policy—ensuring that AI systems are explainable, auditable, and compliant across their lifecycle. You will work closely with engineering, legal, and executive stakeholders to operationalize Responsible AI in real production environments.
What You''ll Do
- Governance Frameworks: Design and implement AI governance frameworks covering model lifecycle management, explainability, bias detection, and auditability (aligned with NIST AI RMF, OECD, or similar frameworks).
- Model Risk Oversight: Establish controls for model validation, monitoring drift, fairness metrics, and human-in-the-loop systems for high-risk use cases.
- Technical Reviews: Evaluate ML/LLM systems (including RAG pipelines and fine-tuned models) for risks such as hallucination, data leakage, and prompt injection.
- Regulatory Alignment: Translate evolving regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, GDPR) into technical requirements and engineering guardrails.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with ML Engineers and Data Scientists to embed governance into pipelines (MLflow, model registries, lineage tracking).
What You''ll Bring
- Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in AI governance, policy, risk management, or a related field.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in a relevant field (AI, policy, law, data science, or ethics).
- Hands-on familiarity with ML/LLM systems (training, evaluation, deployment).
- Experience implementing governance in production ML environments.
- Understanding of model interpretability tools (SHAP, LIME) and fairness metrics.
- Ability to translate technical risk into business and regulatory language.
