About the RoleOur client is seeking a
mid-level Network Administrator. This role blends
network administration and engineering responsibilities and requires a
strong customer-facing mindset. You'll routinely partner with business users, engineering teams, and vendors to design, support, and enhance IT infrastructure that directly supports manufacturing and office operations.
In addition to hands-on technical work, this role plays a key consultative function-meeting with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, reliable networking solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork & Infrastructure Support- Provide Tier-2 network support, troubleshooting complex LAN, WAN, WLAN, voice, and security issues.
- Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points (Catalyst, Nexus).
- Support manufacturing and office connectivity, including switchport configuration, VLANs, cutovers, and endpoint validation (laptops, printers, phones, plant devices).
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response following established change management processes.
Engineering & Deployments- Collaborate with Engineering and Facilities teams to design and build MDF/IDF telecom rooms, including racks, power, UPS, grounding, pathways, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate with electrical and cabling vendors for fiber and copper deployments, overseeing installation, termination, testing, labeling, and as-built documentation.
- Read and interpret engineering and facility drawings to translate requirements into practical network and cabling implementation plans.
- Support wireless deployments, including site surveys, access point placement, and performance validation in industrial/manufacturing environments.
- Assist with deployment and support of paging systems across plant facilities.
Telephony & Collaboration- Provide administration and support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Microsoft Teams Phone.
- Handle phone provisioning, moves/adds/changes, and basic call-routing support.
- Support Informacast Fusion and other enterprise communication platforms.
Documentation & Vendor Coordination- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation.
- Manage and coordinate with vendors and partners, ensuring deliverables meet standards and timelines.
- Provide clear communication and technical guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of hands-on network administration and deployment experience
- Strong working knowledge of copper and fiber cabling standards, including labeling, certification, and documentation best practices
- Experience coordinating MDF/IDF buildouts, structured cabling projects, and vendor-led installations
- Experience with wireless site surveys (Ekahau or similar tools)
- Working experience with Cisco networking platforms (routers, switches, wireless)
- Experience supporting telephony systems (Cisco CUCM, Microsoft Teams Phone)
- Exposure to industrial/OT networking environments, including PLCs, AGVs/AMRs, and Level 2/3 segmentation
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and vendor management skills

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
