Job Description-

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Consultant to support a large enterprise banking client in modernizing and automating their VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment. The consultant will play a critical role in the client s transition from VCF 5.2.x to VCF 9.x, with a strong focus on Configuration Drift Management, security compliance, infrastructure automation, and audit readiness.

This role requires deep expertise in VMware automation technologies, infrastructure-as-code, API integrations, and enterprise-scale automation practices within highly regulated banking environments.

Key Responsibilities

VMware Cloud Foundation & Automation

• Support the migration and modernization initiative from VCF 5.2.x to VCF 9.x.
• Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions for the VCF Management Stack.
• Manage and enhance Configuration Drift Management capabilities using Aria Automation Config / SaltStack.
• Ensure infrastructure consistency, compliance, and security alignment across environments.
• Develop scalable automation frameworks and reusable modules for enterprise infrastructure operations.

SaltStack / Aria Automation Config Engineering

• Develop, maintain, and optimize SaltStack states, pillars, reactors, orchestration workflows, and custom integrations.
• Build automation workflows for configuration enforcement, compliance validation, remediation, and audit tracking.
• Implement event-driven automation and policy-based configuration management.
• Support security hardening and compliance automation initiatives.

API & Integration Development

• Design and develop API-driven integrations between VMware platforms and enterprise tools.
• Develop integrations using Python and/or Java for automation and orchestration use cases.
• Create custom connectors and automation interfaces for operational workflows.
• Integrate with enterprise monitoring, CMDB, ITSM, security, and governance tools.

vRealize Orchestrator (vRO) & IaC

• Develop and maintain vRO workflows, actions, and orchestration pipelines.
• Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, YAML, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement automation standards, reusable templates, and deployment frameworks.
• Drive automation maturity and operational efficiency initiatives.

Client Engagement & Consulting

• Collaborate closely with banking client stakeholders, infrastructure teams, security teams, and audit/compliance groups.
• Gather technical and business requirements and translate them into scalable automation solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and automation best practices.
• Conduct technical workshops, knowledge transfer sessions, and solution walkthroughs.

Security, Compliance & Audit Support

• Implement automation solutions aligned with banking regulatory and audit requirements.
• Support configuration governance, compliance reporting, and drift remediation.
• Ensure automation solutions align with enterprise security standards and operational controls.
• Contribute to audit readiness initiatives and compliance evidence generation.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills

• Strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Aria Automation Config / SaltStack (formerly SaltStack Enterprise).
• Strong scripting/programming skills in Python and/or Java.
• Experience with VMware vRealize Orchestrator (vRO).
• Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies and tools.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and API integrations.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation practices.
• Strong Linux systems administration and automation background.

• Experience working in large enterprise or regulated banking environments.

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and client-facing consulting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting financial services or banking clients.
• VMware certifications (VCF, VCP, VCAP, Aria Automation, NSX, etc.).
• Experience with compliance frameworks and security automation.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience with cloud automation and hybrid cloud environments.
