Job Title: Data Management Consultant (Contingent Resource)

Location: Short Hills, NJ
About the Role

As a Data Management Consultant, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support complex, large-scale data initiatives. You will apply deep data expertise to analyze multifaceted data challenges, define business requirements, and improve data quality and usability. This role requires strategic thinking, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to work with diverse data sources across the enterprise.

Note: This role focuses on data management and analysis only. Reporting resources are not required.
Responsibilities

Consult on complex data management initiatives with broad organizational impact and long-term planning horizons.
Collaborate with the Voice of the Customer (VoC) team to identify, document, and refine business and data requirements.
Provide data recommendations, including source identification, data mapping, and end-to-end data lineage.
Profile and assess data from multiple cross-business sources to evaluate structure, quality, and usability.
Identify, document, and manage business and technical metadata by partnering with application owners and technical teams.
Design, implement, and execute data quality rules; perform root cause analysis to address data quality issues.
Communicate project status, risks, and issues clearly and consistently across project modules and stakeholders.
Contribute to resolution of complex issues by applying knowledge of data management practices, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management, or equivalent experience gained through work, consulting, training, military service, or education.
7+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Data integration
- Data analysis or analytics
- Data modeling
7+ years of experience with SQL, data profiling, and data quality concepts.
7+ years of experience creating ETL documentation, including data lineage, source-to-target mapping, and transformation logic.
7+ years of experience working with enterprise databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or Teradata.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong expertise in data research, analysis, and interpretation.
Experience performing root cause analysis on complex data issues.
Knowledge of BigQuery or other cloud-based data platforms.
Familiarity with customer survey data and Voice of the Customer analytics.
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Outstanding problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
