Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Project Manager in Morrisville, NC.

Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and execution-focused Project Manager to join our team and drive the successful delivery of cross-functional initiatives. This role is centered on the fundamentals of project management: scope, schedule, risk, communication, and delivery accountability.

The ideal candidate is not only a strong project leader but also exceptional with Jira - able to structure work, enforce discipline, create visibility, and keep teams aligned through clear, well-maintained project artifacts.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Management Fundamentals:
* Own end-to-end project delivery from initiation through closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, and outcomes are clearly defined and met
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and dependencies
* Identify, track, and manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, escalating when appropriate
* Facilitate core project ceremonies (kickoffs, status reviews, risk reviews, retrospectives)
* Provide clear, concise, and consistent status reporting to stakeholders and leadership
* Drive accountability across cross-functional teams and ensure commitments are met
* Maintain strong stakeholder alignment through proactive communication and expectation management

Jira Ownership & Execution (Critical Requirement):
* Serve as the Jira system owner for assigned projects
* Create, structure, and maintain Jira projects, epics, stories, tasks, and workflows
* Ensure work is properly decomposed, prioritized, and sequenced in Jira
* Enforce Jira hygiene: clear descriptions, acceptance criteria, statuses, dependencies, and ownership
* Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and filters to provide real-time visibility into progress, risks, and delivery health
* Use Jira to track execution against plan and quickly surface blockers or slippage

REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives
* Strong command of core project management principles (scope, schedule, risk, communication, governance)
* Advanced proficiency with Jira - beyond basic usage (project setup, workflows, dashboards, reporting)
* Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills
* Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
* Comfortable driving execution and holding teams accountable

Preferred Qualifications:
* PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification
* Experience managing projects in Agile, hybrid, or iterative delivery environments
* Experience working with distributed or global teams
* Familiarity with Confluence, SharePoint, or similar documentation platforms

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
