Job#: 3025537 Job Description: Full Stack Java / React Engineer
Location: Onsite - Hopkins, MN
We are seeking a highly experienced Full Stack Engineer to support a
critical modernization and conversion. This role will focus on building and enhancing scalable, cloud-ready applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically strong across both back-end and front-end development, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This is an
onsite position based in Hopkins, Minnesota, supporting a high-visibility enterprise modernization effort.
Key Responsibilities
The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern applications and services. Daily responsibilities include:
- Designing and building scalable Java and Spring Boot microservices that expose secure and performant RESTful APIs.
- Leveraging Spring Cloud components (Config Server, Eureka, Gateway, Circuit Breakers) to support service discovery, configuration management, and resilience.
- Developing responsive and maintainable React applications, with strong use of hooks, state management, and component lifecycle best practices.
- Writing clean, type-safe front-end code using TypeScript with React.
- Integrating front-end applications with Spring Boot back-end services through well-defined APIs.
- Working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, using JPA/Hibernate for data persistence and ORM.
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab, ensuring reliable builds and deployments.
- Containerizing and deploying services using Docker and Kubernetes in a microservices-based environment.
- Implementing authentication and authorization using Spring Security and JWT.
- Writing and maintaining automated tests, including JUnit and Mockito for back-end services and Jest or React Testing Library for front-end applications.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8-10 years of professional software development experience
- Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with React and TypeScript
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design
- Experience with Spring Cloud, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of relational databases and ORM frameworks
- Strong testing mindset across both front-end and back-end
