Salesforce Developer IV (Technical Lead)

Service Type: Contract-to-Hire

Location: Onsite (Hybrid - Central Ohio or Minnesota)

Job Overview

A leading enterprise Salesforce Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking a Salesforce Technical Lead to support development activities across multiple Salesforce platforms. This role requires strong hands-on Salesforce development experience, the ability to lead and mentor a development team, and experience driving technical design, proof of concepts, and best practices.

The ideal candidate will independently build components, guide developers, and partner with architects, DevOps, and QA teams.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership
  • Lead development efforts and mentor Salesforce developers on coding standards, performance, and best practices.
  • Build and unit test components independently; collaborate with QA and Dev teams to resolve issues.
  • Provide direction for research on new Salesforce capabilities and platform enhancements.
  • Lead proof-of-concept (POC) projects evaluating new designs, integrations, and patterns.

Core Salesforce Development
  • Demonstrate expertise in: Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWCs), Flows, Triggers, Complex Formulas, Workflows, and Security.
  • Create and maintain technical patterns, documentation, and best practices for COE delivery teams.

Agile & DevOps
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, retros, and code reviews.
  • Support improvements to DevOps processes (CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, automation, environment management).

Integration & Architecture
  • Understand enterprise-level integration concepts such as event processing, APIs, and cross-system data exchange.
  • Evaluate Salesforce and third-party solutions, creating POCs to support design and product decisions.


Requirements

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 4+ years of progressive technical experience developing enterprise applications including full-stack Salesforce development.
  • 2-3 years working within a Scrum/Agile environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong SFDC data model knowledge across multiple clouds/products; experience with complex data modeling.
  • Expertise in Git branching, merging, and source control best practices.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Salesforce certifications such as:
  • Administrator
  • Platform Developer I & II
  • Sales Cloud Consultant
  • Service Cloud Consultant
  • Financial Services Cloud experience (highly preferred).
  • Experience with managed packages (evaluation, deployment, upgrades).
  • CI/CD experience with tools such as Jenkins, Copado, Gearset, etc.
  • Experience with MuleSoft or Salesforce Marketing Cloud (bonus).
