About the Opportunity

We are supporting a large-scale, multi-year technical training initiative focused on preparing the next generation of skilled technicians for enterprise infrastructure environments. As part of this growing program, we are seeking Senior Technical Trainers to lead high-volume training delivery and mentor junior trainers within a structured classroom and lab setting.
This role is best suited for experienced telecom, structured cabling, or data center professionals who enjoy teaching, leading, and developing others, and who want to apply their expertise beyond the field.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Technical Trainer, you will act as both a lead instructor and technical subject matter expert, responsible for delivering training while helping guide and develop Associate Trainers.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading instructor-led classroom sessions for 24-30 adult learners
  • Delivering advanced technical instruction through lecture, hands-on labs, and assessments
  • Teaching structured cabling and telecom concepts with an emphasis on fiber installation and safety
  • Breaking down complex technical topics for entry-level learners with little to no prior experience
  • Mentoring and coaching Associate Trainers during training delivery
  • Partnering with another trainer in a co-delivery model
  • Maintaining classroom structure, pacing, and learner engagement
  • Preparing and maintaining training labs, tools, and environments
  • Evaluating learner performance and completing reporting and assessments
  • Providing feedback and recommendations to training leadership
  • Supporting continuous improvement of training delivery and curriculum

This role involves daily public speaking, hands-on technical instruction, and active classroom leadership.

Who This Role Is For

This position is designed for seasoned technical professionals who have already served as informal or formal leaders in the field and are looking to step into a Senior training and mentorship role.
Ideal backgrounds include:
  • Senior data center technicians
  • Telecom or structured cabling leads
  • Fiber installation foremen or supervisors
  • Field supervisors or trainers
  • Technical instructors from trade or workforce programs
  • Military communications or signal instructors

Required Qualifications

  • 6-9+ years of hands-on technical experience in telecom, structured cabling, or data center environments
  • Strong expertise in structured cabling, with fiber experience strongly preferred
  • Prior experience training, mentoring, or leading technical teams
  • Ability to confidently lead classrooms and speak in front of groups daily
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong emphasis on safety, coaching, and hands-on learning
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for entry-level learners
  • Experience managing a classroom or structured training environment
  • Comfortable working 100% onsite in a classroom and lab setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as BICSI
  • Experience supporting curriculum delivery or training program improvements
  • Instructional design or training development exposure
  • Experience coaching or developing junior trainers
  • Bilingual skills

Program Stability & Growth

While the role is structured in 90-day contract increments, it is part of a long-term, multi-year training initiative with significant scale. The program is expected to train tens of thousands of technicians over time, creating strong stability for trainers who perform well.
Senior Trainers benefit from:
  • Frequent contract extensions aligned with program growth
  • Long-term runway within a sustained training organization
  • Opportunities to influence training delivery and mentor other trainers
  • Clear pathways into advanced leadership or subject-matter expert roles
  • Continued engagement in enterprise-scale infrastructure programs

Work Environment

  • 100% onsite, classroom and lab setting
  • Structured weekday training schedule
  • High-volume, standardized training delivery model
  • Collaborative team environment with paired trainers
  • Focus on safety, professionalism, and consistency
