Summary

Description
Supporting a large-scale, multi-year workforce development program expanding data center footprint. As part of this initiative, we are hiring Associate Technical Trainers to help train the next generation of skilled technicians entering the data center and telecom industry.
This role is ideal for hands-on technical professionals who enjoy mentoring, teaching, and working directly with people, and who are interested in transitioning from field work into a training-focused career path.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Technical Trainer, you will deliver instructor-led technical training to entry-level technicians in a structured classroom and lab environment. Training focuses primarily on telecom fundamentals, structured cabling (fiber and copper), safety, and hands-on technical skills.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering a mix of lecture-based instruction and hands-on lab training
  • Teaching pre-built curriculum focused on telecom and data center infrastructure
  • Breaking down technical concepts for learners with little to no prior experience
  • Coaching and supporting trainees to ensure learning outcomes and safety standards are met
  • Partnering with a Senior Trainer in a co-delivery training model
  • Managing classroom flow, learner engagement, and supervision
  • Preparing training labs, tools, and equipment
  • Completing training documentation such as assessments, grading, and reporting
  • Providing feedback to program leadership to support continuous improvement

This role is 75%+ hands-on instruction and requires daily interaction with learners.

Who This Role Is For

This position is well-suited for candidates coming from hands-on technical or trade environments who have experience teaching, mentoring, or guiding others-formally or informally.
Relevant backgrounds include:
  • Telecom or low-voltage technicians
  • Structured cabling or fiber technicians
  • Electrical or construction professionals
  • Field technicians or field leads
  • Military technical or communications roles

Prior data center experience is not required. Candidates with transferable technical skills and a willingness to learn data center-specific concepts are strongly encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of hands-on technical experience in telecom, cabling, electrical, construction, or similar fields
  • Exposure to structured cabling (fiber and/or copper)
  • Experience explaining or teaching technical concepts (mentoring, onboarding, field leadership, etc.)
  • Comfort speaking in front of groups and leading classroom sessions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong focus on safety, coaching, and hands-on learning
  • Ability to manage a classroom environment and supervise learners
  • Willingness to work 100% onsite in a classroom/lab setting

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • BICSI certification (or willingness to obtain in the future)
  • Learning Management System (LMS) exposure
  • Instructional design or training development experience
  • Data center exposure
  • Bilingual skills

Program Stability & Growth

This role is structured in 90-day contract increments, but it is part of a 2+ year initiative expected to train approximately 20,000 technicians over time. Strong performers are frequently extended and may remain embedded in the program long term.
This program offers:
  • Consistent renewal potential aligned to program growth
  • Long-term runway within a multi-year initiative
  • Clear progression into Senior Trainer, SME, or leadership roles
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale, next-generation infrastructure environments
