Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer for an onsite position with a Major Financial Institution located in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This position is for a full stack Java developer to join a team responsible for a vendor product, a legacy reporting application, and a new, custom-built trading platform. The role involves detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
Responsibilities: - Provide detailed technical design and development of software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices
- Design databases and perform SQL development
- Perform UNIX design and development
- Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance
- Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software and develop specifications
- Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures
- Prepare technical and procedural documentation required for software
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience
- 6 to 8 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience as a Java full stack developer
- Proficiency with Spring Boot and Microservices
- Strong SQL and database design skills
- Knowledge of OCP (Open/Closed Principle)
- Experience with UNIX
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Adaptability and proactive problem-solving abilities
Desired skills: Pay range: $50.01 - $58.01 per hour
