Role SummaryThe Network Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of network professionals and overseeing the performance, reliability, and security of enterprise network infrastructure across multiple sites. This role emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the network environment effectively supports institutional priorities. The position is primarily managerial, with a focus on guiding teams, managing projects, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of network engineers, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth
- Oversee the design, implementation, and support of enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance
- Establish and enforce standards, policies, and best practices for network operations and systems administration
- Manage multiple large-scale, concurrent projects, including planning, execution, and progress reporting
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to align network initiatives with business and academic needs
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and renewals to ensure optimal service delivery and cost efficiency
- Ensure accurate documentation, inventory management, and operational reporting for network systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Act as a primary point of contact for network-related services, escalations, and strategic initiatives
- Promote strong communication and collaboration between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
Compensation & Benefits- $135,000 - $150,000 annually

Additional Details- Location: Hybrid onsite near Woodland Hills with some local travel

Requirements Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience managing technical teams, including direct supervision of network engineers
- 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise network environments
- Strong expertise in network infrastructure technologies, including routing, switching, VPNs, wireless, and VoIP systems
- Experience supporting large-scale environments with 1,000+ users and distributed networks
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead complex, concurrent projects
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex issues and leading resolution across teams and vendors
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)- Experience in higher education or similarly complex, multi-site organizations
- Advanced networking certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE)
- Experience with enterprise network monitoring tools and IT service management platforms
- Deep familiarity with Cisco networking and wireless technologies
- Experience leading large-scale infrastructure modernization or transformation initiatives
