JOB DETAILS FROM MANAGER:
Team has been Building structure for last little while-was hiring people that were sql heavy and reverse engineers and can build out infrastructure-heavy lifting is done now
Don't need someone to come in and do that type of work but similar exp is still needed
Investment baking/ cap markets Product exp is great to have - banking type products- derivatives, interest rate products (stuff that creates market and counterparty risk)
MS Fabric is must have experience -now they built out infrastructure- need people to help with more visualization tools- tableau and power Bi, people that understand building UI's and other visualization tools
Team will refocus efforts from building infrastructure but going around market / counterparty risk area-look at process improvement across whole stack-look at processes through steps and figure out more efficient way to execute that process-where AI comes into play
Manager knows AI is new so he understand that someone will not be an expert-but if people have been exposing other process improvement processes then they can take on new change management approach (AI)
Can they take process and create agent that will execute

Role Overview
Wells Fargo is seeking a highly technical contractor to join the Market & Counterparty Regulatory Reporting team, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely, and regulator-aligned reporting (e.g., FR Y 14Q, CCAR).
This role sits at the intersection of risk subject matter expertise and technology delivery, with a primary mandate to:
Learn and deconstruct current reporting and stress processes
Identify inefficiencies and manual dependencies
Design and propose scalable automation solutions
Partner with technology teams to deliver these solutions into production
The position directly supports ongoing efforts to modernize reporting infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and reduce regulatory risk.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Analysis & SME Partnership
Partner with Market Risk and Counterparty Risk subject matter experts (SMEs) to:
  • Understand end-to-end regulatory reporting workflows (data sourcing transformation aggregation submission)
  • Document current-state processes, controls, and data dependencies

Identify:
  • Manual touchpoints
  • Reconciliation gaps
  • Data lineage issues
  • Opportunities for standardization

2. Automation & Solution Design
Develop future-state automation proposals aligned with enterprise technology strategy
Translate business processes into scalable technical designs, including:
  • Data pipelines
  • Aggregation logic
  • Reporting layers

Evaluate modernization opportunities such as:
  • Migration of legacy SQL-based processes to modern application frameworks (e.g., Java-based ETL)
  • Consolidation of fragmented reporting workflows into structured infrastructure

Ensure solutions:
  • Meet regulatory accuracy and auditability requirements
  • Improve performance, scalability, and control environments

3. Requirements & Delivery Management
o Capture detailed business and technical requirements in Jira, including:
  • Epics, features, and user stories
  • Acceptance criteria aligned with regulatory and data validation standards

o Partner with technology developers to:
  • Refine backlog items
  • Ensure correct interpretation of requirements
  • Support testing and validation

Drive end-to-end delivery lifecycle: Design Build Test Production deployment
4. Data & Technology Engineering Oversight
Analyze and work within complex reporting data environments involving:
  • Large-scale relational datasets
  • Risk aggregation frameworks
  • Regulatory reporting tables

Ensure robustness across:
  • Data integrity and reconciliation
  • Transformation logic
  • Performance optimization

5. Reporting & Visualization Enablement
Incorporate modern visualization and analytics tools where appropriate:
  • Power BI and Tableau for reporting and insights delivery

Leverage these tools to:
  • Reduce manual report generation
  • Enable self-service analytics for stakeholders
  • Improve transparency into risk metrics and reporting outputs

6. Emerging Technology & AI Adoption
Evaluate and recommend use of emerging technologies, including:
  • AI/GenAI copilots for documentation, reconciliation, or anomaly detection
  • Advanced analytics platforms (e.g., Fabric-like ecosystems, semantic layers)

Ensure new technologies:
  • Align with enterprise governance and risk standards
  • Provide measurable efficiency or control improvements

Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise
Advanced proficiency in:
  • SQL (complex queries, stored procedures, performance optimization)
  • Java (enterprise applications, batch processing frameworks such as Spring Boot / Spring Batch preferred)

Strong understanding of:
  • Data architecture and infrastructure design
  • ETL and data pipeline development
  • Distributed / scalable processing frameworks

Regulatory & Domain Experience (Direct Banking Experience is a "Nice to Have" - not completely essential, but if not, the technical expertise needs to be "off the charts")
Experience working in:
  • Market Risk or Counterparty Risk environments
  • Regulatory reporting (e.g., FR Y 14Q, CCAR, Basel) preferred

Familiarity with:
  • Stress testing processes
  • Risk aggregation and reporting controls

Delivery & Collaboration
Proven experience:
  • Writing detailed requirements in Jira (user stories, acceptance criteria)
  • Operating within Agile / hybrid delivery environments

Strong ability to:
  • Translate SME discussions into concrete technical solutions
  • Partner across risk, data, and technology teams

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $55.00/hr.
