The OpportunityWe partner with manufacturers across Wayland seeking NPI Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities- Drive the successful transfer of new products from design to manufacturing.
- Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability.
- Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes for new products.
- Conduct process validation and qualification activities for new product introduction.
- Identify and mitigate potential manufacturing risks during the NPI phase.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for NPI processes and tools.
- Support pilot production runs and initial ramp-up activities for new products.
Recommended Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years experience in NPI (New Product Introduction) within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, OrCAD) for PCB design and layout.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and engineering change order (ECO) processes.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to new product introduction.
Bonus Qualifications- Experience with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBA) for data automation.
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
