Job Description
Aurora is building a data platform from scratch. There is no data team today. This person will be the first engineer, working alongside the data platform lead (Erik) to build pipelines that make payment data traceable, auditable, and visible. The work has already started Dataform project running, BigQuery sources defined, two processors flowing end-to-end. They are extending something real, not starting from zero.
The environment is ambiguous. Documentation is being created in parallel with the build. Some answers only come from querying the data. The source system is a black box in places. This person needs to be comfortable shipping in those conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* This person must produce artifacts, not plans. First deployed artifact within 30 days. We have a hard milestone in August and a Go/No-Go gate in April. Velocity is a requirement, not a preference.
* Founding hire on a two-person team. There is no one to hand work to. If the pipeline breaks at 2am, this person fixes it or flags it for morning. They own the outcome end-to-end: parse the raw file, model the data, validate the output, hand a clean contract to the team building the frontend.
