Job Description
We are seeking an Information Architect to join our team. The role is often labeled as a Data Architect, but the actual need is closer to an Information Architect. The focus is on structuring and organizing complex data within legacy systems rather than traditional data architecture for AI initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a clear, scalable data model for legacy platforms, including mainframe and NonStop systems.
- Create and manage precise data contracts between applications operating on these platforms.
- Work with large volumes of system-generated data and define effective utilization patterns.
- Categorize, prioritize, and organize data by role, workflow, and use case.
- Break down complex data environments into structured, usable frameworks and taxonomies.
- Collaborate with engineering and application teams to align models and contracts with system constraints.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Expertise in information architecture, data modeling, and metadata design for legacy platforms.
- Hands-on experience with mainframe and/or HPE NonStop data structures, file formats, and interfaces.
- Proficiency defining and governing data contracts and interface specifications across applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to large volumes of system-generated data.
- Clear communication and documentation skills to drive alignment among stakeholders.
- Experience level: 5+ years in Information Architecture, Data Architecture, or Solutions Architecture roles.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience mapping legacy schemas to modern data platforms and integration patterns.
- Background in governance, taxonomy, ontology, and data catalog practices.
- Familiarity with API design, messaging, and event-driven data contracts.
- Prior work in Agile or Scrum settings supporting cross-functional delivery teams.
