About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient
Jr. IT Tech Support Technician to provide frontline technical assistance and ensure smooth IT operations across the organization. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot hardware/software issues, maintain IT assets, assist with system installations, and uphold operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
This role requires strong communication skills, customer-centric problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively with users across various departments and organizational levels.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support & Troubleshooting- Serve as the first point of contact for all end-user IT inquiries.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, and software.
- Perform system upgrades and ensure compatibility across devices.
- Test and evaluate new hardware/software to support operational improvements.
Systems & Infrastructure Support- Rack and stack servers; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Install and configure systems supporting infrastructure and/or R&D activities.
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration documentation.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and workplace safety standards.
- Conduct daily system backup operations and monitor system performance.
Asset & Inventory Management- Track and maintain IT inventory records accurately.
- Perform quarterly physical asset audits (4 times per year).
- Support lifecycle management of IT assets and peripheral devices.
Operations & Collaboration- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Document technical procedures, resolutions, and system updates clearly.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts for IT operations.
Required Qualifications- 2+ years of hands-on experience in IT support, computer networks, or system maintenance.
- Experience with Linux-based OS installation, configuration, and support (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Familiarity with asset management tools and processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
Preferred/Bonus Skills- A+, Linux+, or Cisco CCNA certification.
- Experience with Foreman deployments.
- Working knowledge of Ansible automation.
- Background in server management or datacenter operations.
