Job Description
We are seeking an Application Programmer III with deep database engineering expertise to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Oracle SQL/PLSQL, database design, and performance tuning, and a proven ability to deliver high-quality database changes using Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and review database changes across enterprise banking systems.
- Create and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code, procedures, packages, and functions.
- Model data structures, including ER diagrams and normalization, to support application needs.
- Perform performance tuning and capacity monitoring using AWR, ASH, and Explain Plan.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver database changes.
- Leverage OEM and TOAD or similar tools for monitoring, analysis, and development.
- Ensure compliance with data security, encryption, and governance standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Expert-level proficiency with the latest Oracle Database version.
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL programming experience.
- Hands-on use of TOAD and similar development tools.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- Proven database design and data modeling skills, including ER diagrams and normalization.
- Solid understanding of Oracle architecture, memory structures, and background processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective communication and leadership.
- Performance tuning expertise, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and use of AWR, ASH, and Explain Plan.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the financial domain.
- Knowledge of shell scripting and Python to automate database tasks.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Datical.
- Exposure to MS SQL Server and MongoDB.
- Understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance standards.
Work Arrangement & Hiring Process
- Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days onsite in Charlotte, NC. Onsite from day 1.
- Start date: ASAP (May/June).
- Interview process: 2 rounds. First round video, second round in person.
- Glider ID verification required.
- Must not require sponsorship now or in the future.
