Overview

We are seeking a Mid-Level Data QA Engineer with strong experience testing ETL applications in a data-centric, enterprise environment. This role supports high-impact data quality initiatives within the financial services domain. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Informatica tools, SQL, and modern ETL testing methodologies, along with a strong analytical mindset and keen attention to detail.

This role is fully remote, but candidates must be located within commuting distance of Southlake, TX or Austin, TX.
Key Responsibilities
  • Test and validate ETL workflows, data pipelines, and data transformations across complex financial datasets.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and data validation scripts for ETL processes.
  • Analyze and debug Stored Procedures, Table-Valued Functions, and ETL logic.
  • Perform end-to-end data quality checks using Informatica DVO and other QA tools.
  • Validate data mappings, transformations, and integration logic across multiple systems.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, ETL Developers, and business teams to identify data defects and ensure accurate resolution.
  • Support QA documentation, defect tracking, and reporting using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Zephyr).
  • Ensure QA processes align with data governance, data quality, and financial regulatory expectations.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with modern ETL tools, including:
    • Informatica PowerCenter
    • Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC)
  • 5+ years of proven experience using Informatica Data Validation Option (DVO).
  • 3+ years working with and debugging Stored Procedures / Table-Valued Functions.
  • 3-5 years of strong SQL proficiency, including the ability to read, interpret, and validate complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
  • Solid understanding of Data Warehouse, ETL architecture, and data integration concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, Zephyr, or similar tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Financial services or financial data experience is a significant plus.
