Summary We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead, develop, and elevate our accounting team. This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating the full scope of accounts payable and receivable functions, while driving process improvements and modernizing manual workflows. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can motivate a team, streamline operations, and ensure accuracy and efficiency across all accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
· Supervise and coordinate daily activities related to accounts payable and receivable, including calculating, processing, posting, verifying, and maintaining financial data
· Train, schedule, assign, and review staff work to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
· Analyze major accounts and prepare monthly reconciliations of subsidiary accounts to the general ledger
· Manage credit and collections for the top 25–50 key customer accounts as assigned
· Drive process improvement initiatives, including streamlining manual workflows and implementing more efficient accounting procedures
· Develop and implement record-keeping systems, policies, and procedures related to billing, payments, and AR/AP activities
· Create and execute effective collection strategies
· Identify operational inefficiencies, resolve discrepancies, and implement corrective actions
· Partner cross-functionally to communicate and align on accounting policies, practices, and procedures with internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers
· Promote a positive team culture by maintaining harmony, addressing concerns, and resolving employee issues effectively
· Handle escalations, including error resolution and customer or vendor complaints
· Ensure consistent attendance, reliability, and adherence to work schedules
Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities
· Directly manage Accounting Department staff in alignment with company policies and applicable laws
· Lead full-cycle talent management, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and development
· Plan, assign, and direct team workloads while optimizing productivity and accuracy
· Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching, and support career growth
· Recognize achievements, address performance issues, and implement disciplinary actions when necessary
