Summary

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network Automation Engineer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role focuses on developing and implementing automation strategies for network configuration, monitoring, and management within an enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will leverage strong Python and scripting skills to automate repetitive tasks, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance network operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Automate repetitive tasks and workflows using Python and shell scripts within a virtual environment
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation
  • Deploy code to development, QA, Staging, and Production servers using a continuous integration and deployment pipeline platform
  • Test new services are functioning as expected using the testing framework and add new test cases to the test suite
  • Develop and implement automation strategies for network configuration, monitoring, and management
  • Design and maintain scripts and tools to automate network tasks and workflows
  • Implement and manage network orchestration tools to streamline operations
  • Lead code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to streamline operations and processes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand network requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Lead architectural discussions and decision-making processes related to network and automation
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network architects and engineers
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 7+ years of proven experience as a network architect or in a similar senior-level network engineering role
  • Extensive experience with network automation tools and practices
  • Strong background in designing and implementing enterprise-level network solutions
  • Proficiency in network protocols, services, and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, VRFs)
  • Very strong proficiency in Python programming and Linux OS (Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.)
  • Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible)
  • Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) (Arista CVP, Cisco ACI)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Hybrid schedule requirement of a minimum of 3 days per week

Desired skills:
  • Advanced certifications in Networking (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE)
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL, Nautobot)
  • Arista ACE Level 5+ or Cisco DevNet S/P/E
Pay range: $60.24 - $68.24
