Technical Writer

Location: College Station, TX
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Technical Writer

Technical Writer - Infrastructure & GxP - SOPs, validation documentation, executive presentations

Mostly remote, onsite in College Station 10%
Role Purpose

Create professional technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and executive presentations to support the infrastructure migration project. This role requires experience writing documentation for GxP-regulated environments to ensure all deliverables meet pharmaceutical industry standards and support validation activities.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain technical documentation standards and templates for the project

Create SOPs for new Hyper-V cluster operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting

Create SOPs for Veeam backup operations, restore procedures, and job management

Write validation support documentation including protocol templates and test scripts

Document GxP system configurations and change control procedures

Create as-built documentation from technical inputs provided by engineers

Develop executive presentations and status reports for leadership

Create network and architecture diagrams using Visio or similar tools

Write runbooks for common operational tasks and incident response

Document migration playbooks and rollback procedures

Create training materials and quick reference guides for operations team

Ensure all documentation meets GxP standards

Maintain document version control and change history

Support audit readiness by organizing and indexing project documentation

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of technical writing experience in IT infrastructure

Experience writing documentation for GxP-regulated environments

Understanding of GxP documentation requirements

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Visio

Experience creating SOPs, runbooks, and as-built documentation

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation

Experience with document management and version control systems

Strong attention to detail and quality

Preferred Qualifications

Previous pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience

Experience with IT infrastructure, virtualization and backup technologies

Knowledge of IQ/OQ/PQ validation documentation

Experience creating executive-level presentations

Familiarity with SharePoint or similar collaboration platforms

As-built documentation for all new infrastructure

Executive presentations for project milestones and gate reviews
