This role sits at the intersection of engineering excellence, developer productivity, and emerging AI-driven tooling. You will champion best-in-class usage of modern IDEs, build meaningful demos and internal tools, and help shape the next generation of development workflows across the enterprise.
This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for someone who loves to experiment, teach, build, and inspire.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeveloper Productivity & Tooling (50%)- Build, enhance, and maintain internal tooling that supports the next evolution of developer productivity at Bank of America.
- Develop real, production-relevant demos and prototypes that showcase effective use of IDE capabilities, AI-assisted development, and modern engineering workflows.
- Explore and evaluate agentic toolkits and AI technologies (e.g., Copilot-style assistants) to determine:
- How to select the right model for the right task
- How to craft effective prompts
- How to integrate AI into day-to-day development to accelerate output
- Work across the full SDLC with a focus on improving efficiency, quality, and developer experience.
- Contribute to initiatives such as dev containers, internal marketplaces, and new AI agents.
Evangelism, Enablement & Community Engagement (50%)- Lead internal "road shows" to demonstrate new tools, workflows, and best practices.
- Create engaging videos, walkthroughs, and presentations that highlight productivity improvements and new capabilities.
- Travel to internal teams and communities to showcase work, gather feedback, and drive adoption.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering teams across multiple languages and ecosystems (Java, .NET, Python, NodeJS, C/C++, and more).
Required Skills & ExperienceTechnical Expertise- Deep understanding of how IDEs operate under the hood-such as Visual Studio, IntelliJ, Eclipse, or similar.
- Strong technical foundation across software development concepts, tools, and languages.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, analyze workflows, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Experience working through the full software development lifecycle.
