Role Overview
The HubSpot Product Owner is responsible for owning and driving the strategy, configuration, and continuous optimization of the HubSpot platform across marketing, sales, and operational use cases. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, ensuring that lead management, marketing automation, and integrations are effectively designed, implemented, and maintained to support B2B growth objectives.

This individual must combine strong product ownership, deep HubSpot expertise, and hands-on technical capability to manage workflows, APIs, and system integrations.

Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Strategy
  • Own the HubSpot roadmap aligned to B2B marketing and sales goals
  • Gather and prioritize requirements from marketing, sales, and operations stakeholders
  • Translate business needs into scalable HubSpot solutions (workflows, objects, integrations)
  • Define and manage backlog, sprint planning, and release cycles
Lead Management & Funnel Optimization
  • Design and optimize end-to-end lead management processes (capture nurture conversion lifecycle management)
  • Ensure accurate lead routing, scoring, lifecycle staging, and pipeline alignment
  • Identify gaps in funnel performance and drive continuous improvements
  • Standardize lead data model, ensuring alignment across systems
Marketing Automation
  • Build and maintain marketing automation workflows (email, SMS, nurture journeys, triggers)
  • Implement segmentation, personalization, and dynamic content strategies
  • Manage campaign execution and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Partner with marketing teams to optimize engagement, conversion, and attribution
Technical Implementation & Integrations
  • Design and implement integrations between HubSpot and external systems (CRM, data platforms, APIs, third-party tools)
  • Develop and maintain custom workflows, webhooks, and API-based data syncs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration and data issues
  • Ensure data consistency across systems using defined matching and deduplication logic
Platform Administration & Optimization
  • Configure HubSpot (properties, objects, pipelines, automation, reporting)
  • Maintain data hygiene, governance, and documentation standards
  • Monitor platform performance and implement enhancements
  • Partner with teams to ensure adoption and proper usage
Reporting & Analytics
  • Define KPIs across lead management, marketing performance, and pipeline health
  • Build dashboards and reports to track funnel performance
  • Deliver insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Support attribution and campaign measurement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Experience
  • 5+ years in marketing technology, CRM, or product ownership roles
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot Sales and Marketing Hub
  • Strong experience in B2B marketing and lead management
  • Proven track record managing marketing automation programs
Technical Skills
  • Experience building HubSpot workflows, automation, and lifecycle design
  • Strong understanding of HubSpot APIs, webhooks, and integrations
  • Experience integrating HubSpot with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics) and other tools
  • Familiarity with data modeling, field mapping, and system architecture
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, REST APIs, or middleware tools is highly preferred
Functional Skills
  • Strong understanding of B2B funnel stages, lead scoring, and lifecycle frameworks
  • Experience with campaign execution and personalization strategies
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise implementations of HubSpot
  • Exposure to CDPs, data warehouses, or advanced analytics tools
  • Background in MarTech architecture or system migrations
  • HubSpot certifications (Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, CMS, etc.)
Success Metrics
  • Lead conversion rate and funnel velocity improvements
  • Marketing automation performance (engagement, MQL SQL conversion)
  • Data quality and system reliability
  • Adoption and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Delivery of roadmap initiatives on time
