Description
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in New York, New York. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work in the asset management industry, focusing on high-level network design, implementation, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in network engineering and a strong background in Cisco technologies and firewalls.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain network solutions using Cisco routers and switches.
Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls to ensure network security.
Oversee the deployment and administration of Cisco ASA devices.
Implement and troubleshoot Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) to optimize network performance.
Monitor network performance and address issues to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network upgrades and improvements.
Provide technical expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex network problems.
Document network configurations, processes, and updates for future reference.
Ensure compliance with organizational and industry security standards.
Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
Requirements
A minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering.
Expertise in working with Cisco routers, switches, and ASA devices.
Hands-on experience configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls.
Strong knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and its implementation.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues.
Familiarity with industry-standard network security practices.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
Strong documentation skills to maintain accurate records of network configurations.
