Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Guidewire Business Analyst to join a cross-functional Agile delivery team supporting large-scale insurance platform implementations. This role focuses on capturing, analyzing, and documenting business requirements at a user-story level, while partnering closely with Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), developers, and QA teams.
The Business Analyst will play a critical role in understanding end-to-end business processes, translating business needs into system solutions, and helping drive continuous improvement across insurance products and workflows. This position requires strong communication skills, Guidewire PolicyCenter expertise, and the ability to contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle-including requirements definition, testing support, and artifact maintenance.
This is a 100% remote role, with quarterly travel to Omaha, NE.
Project Initiatives & Business ImpactThis role will directly support a multi-year Guidewire transformation initiative, implementing core Guidewire products to modernize and scale enterprise insurance operations. The organization is currently rolling out PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and Smart Communications, beginning with Commercial Auto, with future phases planned for Property & Casualty, Garage, and General Liability lines of business.
The selected candidate will:
- Help shape how business requirements are translated into Guidewire configurations
- Influence system design decisions by leveraging deep Guidewire platform knowledge
- Support testing strategies to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions
- Enable business stakeholders to make informed decisions through clear documentation and analysis
This role has a direct impact on system stability, business efficiency, and long-term platform success.
Responsibilities- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements as user stories within an Agile environment
- Collaborate with Product Owners, SMEs, and business teams to understand end-to-end business workflows
- Define process and system improvements aligned with business goals
- Create and maintain business and product artifacts (user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, etc.)
- Partner with QA teams to define test cases and support functional testing activities
- Apply Guidewire PolicyCenter knowledge to recommend configuration and solution approaches
- Support Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative delivery cycles
- Handle moderately complex issues independently, escalating only unusual cases
Required Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree (required)
- Guidewire PolicyCenter BA ACE Certification or Certified Associate (required)
- 1+ years of Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration or development experience
- Experience participating in at least one full Guidewire PolicyCenter implementation
- Strong background in business analysis, requirements gathering, and user story development
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Experience collaborating with QA teams on test case creation and testing support
- Knowledge of technology testing methods and procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization
- Comfortable working with confidential data
Nice to Have- Experience with BillingCenter or Smart Communications
- Background in commercial insurance lines
- Willingness to assist with testing activities, including defining automated test scenarios
Work Environment- 100% remote with quarterly travel to Omaha, NE

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
