The Senior Data Tester is responsible for validating data quality, accuracy, and completeness across data pipelines, data platforms, and reporting solutions. This role works closely with business, development, and data engineering teams to review requirements, create test scenarios, execute data validations, identify defects, and support release readiness. The candidate should have strong SQL skills, good understanding of ETL/data testing, and the ability to communicate testing results clearly.
Key Responsibilities:
· Review requirements, data mappings, and design documents to understand testing scope and expected data outcomes.
· Create and execute test cases for ETL, data migration, data warehouse, reporting, and cloud data platform testing.
· Perform data validations such as source-to-target checks, count checks, transformation validation, and data quality checks.
· Use SQL and basic automation skills to validate data and reduce repetitive manual testing.
· Support test data preparation for SIT, regression, UAT, and data migration testing.
· Identify, document, and track defects through closure by working with development and data engineering teams.
· Support UAT and provide testing status, risks, and results to stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience in data testing, ETL testing, data migration testing, or data warehouse validation.
· Strong SQL skills and good understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and data quality testing.
· Working knowledge of cloud data platforms, data warehouses, or big data environments.
· Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
· Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
