Senior Oracle DBA (Azure)

Description:
Our client, a leader in their industry, has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Oracle DBA with Azure cloud experience to work on a 12-month+ contract position in Lake Mary, FL, or Pittsburgh, PA. This is a hybrid role working onsite two days a week. This position has the potential to convert to a full-time permanent role. This role requires participation in a rotating 24/7 on-call support schedule (approximately every 6-7 weeks), which may occasionally include evening or weekend coverage. Seeking candidates, local or willing to relocate to Lake Mary, FL, or Pittsburgh, PA, by day one.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a W-2 basis and convert to full-time permanent employment without sponsorship or a visa transfer now or in the future. Rate: $85/hr - $98/hr w-2

Responsibilities:
90% production database administration and maintenance of Oracle database environments (19c) hosted in Azure, including provisioning, configuration, and ongoing platform support. Some architecture and development (shell scripts) as needed.

Manage database backup, restore, and resiliency solutions using RMAN, Active Data Guard, and replication technologies such as GoldenGate.

Implement identity and access management best practices, including least-privilege role assignments and database vault controls.

Monitor database performance, capacity, and operational events using Azure-native monitoring and logging tools.

Support production database environments, performing patching, upgrades, diagnostics, and documentation while collaborating with security and engineering teams.

Experience Requirements:
10+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting enterprise production environments.

Experience managing Oracle databases in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.

Strong knowledge of Oracle backup/recovery, RMAN, Active Data Guard, and database security best practices.

Experience with database monitoring, performance tuning, and audit readiness processes.

Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call support schedule (approximately every 6-7 weeks), which may occasionally include evening or weekend coverage.

Education Requirements:
Experience implementing Oracle GoldenGate replication and advanced resiliency configurations.

Familiarity with Azure identity services, managed identities, and centralized authentication models.

Experience with database monitoring tools such as Guardium.

Exadata experience is nice to have but not required

Experience writing shell scripts or automation for database maintenance tasks.

Azure and Oracle Certifications preferred
