Job#: 3027127 Job Description: Remote Test EngineerDescriptionThe IT Solutions team is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting technology products and capabilities that enable modern, customer-facing digital services. Key areas of focus include connected technologies, systems that support user onboarding, reservations and availability, pricing, and billing functionality, as well as consumer-facing websites and mobile applications.
The Test Engineer is responsible for assessing and evaluating quality assurance requirements to determine the scope of functionality covered by testing. This role designs, develops, executes, and maintains software test plans and test cases, while testing applications and documenting, tracking, and reporting defects. The Test Engineer also analyzes test results, applies troubleshooting skills to help identify root causes, and coordinates and/or conducts re-testing once defects are resolved.
QualificationsRequired- Commitment to incorporating security considerations into all decisions and daily responsibilities
- 2+ years of experience performing manual, multi-platform testing
- Proactive mindset with ownership over all supported testing efforts
- Strong teamwork, decision-making, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work productively in a remote, fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey test progress, risks, and defect resolution to development teams
- Effective time management skills with the ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and process-oriented approach
- Experience using testing and documentation tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, and Confluence
Preferred- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Knowledge of various software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, etc.) and how testing integrates within each
- Experience in a QA/QC testing environment, including test analysis, test planning, and execution
- Experience testing client-server, web applications, and web services
- Knowledge of structured testing techniques
