This position is for an Application Architect who will define and implement models for hands-free Java application releases. The role focuses on establishing standard models for new Java applications to implement hands-free deployment as a default process. This involves defining how solutions should be constructed rather than directly building them, working as a member of a team to achieve this objective.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement standard models for hands-free Java application deployment processes.
- Establish automated CI/CD processing, smoke testing, approval, and production deployment procedures.
- Script automated flows beyond CI/CD using relevant tools.
- Manage database and configuration transitions and handle traffic management during releases.
- Engage with client teams to document requirements and resolve issues.
- Formulate standard patterns and processes for blue/green and canary style releases.
- Oversee production shutdown, deployment, restart, and traffic migration for applications.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- Experience with CI/CD processes, including tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and OpenShift.
- Proven experience deploying and releasing small to complex Java applications.
- Familiarity with container and VM deployments.
- Experience with automation coordination and execution tools, particularly Cutover.
- Knowledge of automated validation and testing.
- Experience with both blue/green and canary style releases.
Technical Skills:Preferred Qualifications
- Java application development experience is considered a plus.
- Experience in Production Support, Performance Testing, Functional Test Automation, or Database Management areas.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Rate: $65.00 - $70.24 per hour.
