Summary

Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Mainframe DBA Manager/Lead with 12–20+ years of mainframe experience and 8–16+ years of DB2 for z/OS database administration experience. The candidate will lead enterprise DB2 environments, ensuring database performance, availability, security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead DB2 for z/OS administration, database design, and architecture.
  • Manage SQL performance tuning, access path analysis, and capacity planning.
  • Oversee DB2 utilities, maintenance, backup, recovery, and DR operations.
  • Lead DB2 upgrades, subsystem migrations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Handle critical production incidents, root cause analysis, and L3/L4 escalations.
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration.

Required Skills:

  • Strong expertise in DB2 for z/OS, DB2 subsystems, Data Sharing, tablespaces, indexes, and buffer pools.
  • Proficiency in SQL tuning, DB2 utilities, backup/recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JES2, and SMP/E.
  • Experience with DB2 upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery, and production support.
  • Excellent technical leadership, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
