Description
We are looking for a motivated entry-level Operations Engineer to join our team in Secaucus, NJ . In this role, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to maintain and enhance mission-critical, low-latency trading systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in system administration, networking, and automation while contributing to the operational success of our platform.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain the performance of low-latency trading systems to ensure seamless operation.
Assist in resolving incidents by troubleshooting issues and minimizing system downtime in collaboration with senior team members.
Perform essential operational tasks such as system monitoring, log analysis, and routine maintenance.
Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Gain hands-on experience with Linux/Unix system administration and networking technologies.
Contribute to the creation and upkeep of detailed documentation for systems and processes.
Participate in rotational weekend work to ensure system reliability and availability.
Travel occasionally to the data center as required for hardware or system maintenance tasks.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
At least 1 year of experience in IT support or system administration, showcasing a foundational understanding of IT infrastructure.
Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools.
Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP and DNS.
Experience with scripting languages like Bash or Python is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a proactive approach to learning.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in weekend work on a rotational basis.
