Description
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Network Administrator to oversee and enhance our network systems in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our wired and wireless infrastructure, as well as firewall technologies. This is a long-term contract opportunity, ideal for professionals eager to collaborate across teams and maintain high standards of network reliability.
Responsibilities:
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Administer and support firewall solutions, including platforms like Palo Alto Networks and Cisco, ensuring connectivity and security.
Monitor and maintain VPN tunnels, remote access systems, and site-to-site connections to guarantee seamless operations.
Assist in deploying, analyzing, and improving wired and wireless network infrastructure for optimal performance.
Collaborate with Deskside Support, Server Administration, and Information Security teams to align IT operations and resolve issues.
Uphold compliance with security protocols and regulatory standards by monitoring and maintaining network configurations.
Document network setups, updates, incident responses, and inventory records to ensure transparency and accuracy.
Provide Tier 2 support for network-related challenges, escalating more complex issues when necessary.
Participate in IT change management processes to ensure smooth transitions and upgrades.
Follow service management best practices related to incidents, problems, and change management processes.
Requirements
1-4 years of experience in network administration or IT support roles.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and DNS.
Hands-on experience with network and firewall platforms, particularly Palo Alto Networks and Cisco solutions.
Familiarity with secure remote access technologies such as Cisco AnyConnect.
Proficiency in managing enterprise wireless systems and understanding relevant protocols.
Solid knowledge of network security principles and the ability to manage firewall policies effectively.
Experience working with Active Directory and local area network (LAN) configurations.
Ability to troubleshoot and optimize Cisco router configurations.
