Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining operational reporting and key performance indicators (KPIs) that span our manufacturing operations and government-contracting environments. You will leverage your expertise in data visualization tools (especially IBM Cognos and Microsoft Power BI) and data modeling to turn raw data into actionable insights for operational leaders. You will also partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements, build dashboards, support change-management and act as a project manager of analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting and is comfortable working both hands-on and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and enhance operational reports and interactive dashboards (in Cognos and Power BI) to monitor performance, productivity, quality, throughput, cost, inventory, and other KPIs.
  • Work with operations, supply chain, quality, engineering and contract-administration teams to elicit requirements, define metrics, create data definitions and ensure alignment of analytics with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines, data models and ETL processes (SQL, coding or scripting) that support reliable reporting, ensure data integrity, consistency and the automation of manual tasks.
  • Act as project lead on analytics initiatives - create project plans, manage time-lines, coordinate stakeholders, deliver results, and drive adoption of analytics outputs.
  • Perform ad hoc and recurring data analyses (trend analysis, root-cause, variance analysis) to uncover process improvement opportunities, support decision-making and track performance to target.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics) or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting and dashboard development-preferably in a manufacturing, operations or defense-contracting environment.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Cognos and Power BI (designing dashboards, setting up KPIs, slicing/dicing data, building interactive visualizations).
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with business / operations teams to gather requirements, define metrics and deliver insights.
  • Solid project-management skills: ability to coordinate analytics projects, manage time-lines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MES tools) and integrating those data sources into analytics solutions.
  • Prior experience mentoring and leading a small team of data/reporting analysts.
  • Experience with other BI tools or visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and scripting languages (e.g., R, Python full stack)
  • Experience in a regulated environment or familiarity with government/DoD contracting requirements (reporting, audit readiness, compliance) is a plus.
