Firewall Operations Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Firewall Operations Analyst in Tampa, FL (4 days onsite).

Overview:
A Firewall Operations Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of TECO/PGS network firewalls. This will include working tickets for firewall change requests, working with projects to advise from a network security perspective, and troubleshooting network issues that from a firewall perspective. Additional responsibilities include the patching and maintenance of Checkpoint firewalls.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Network/firewall troubleshooting, including troubleshooting issues with Checkpoint firewalls and Cisco Routers/Switches
* Planning, engineering, and implementing of firewall changes
* Collaborating with Enterprise Architects and business partners for network security/firewall changes
* Regular attendance of project meetings as a representative of the Firewall Operations team
* Maintenance and support of network firewalls; Tasks including regular patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting of firewall hardware
* Adherence to changing management process
* Technical writing to include documentation of firewall changes and documenting standards
* Regular on-call rotation for firewall related issues

REQUIREMENTS:
* Recent experience with Checkpoint firewalls (R81.x or higher)
* Experience with routing and switching (Cisco)
* Strong knowledge of Checkpoint firewalls, VPN configuration/troubleshooting, and network security best practices is a requirement
* Experience with VPN setup, implementation, and troubleshooting (Experience with Azure and Amazon VPNs with Checkpoint preferred)
* Experience with regulatory compliance environments (NERC preferred)
* Experience with regulatory compliance environments is preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
