Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Type: Full Time

Location: Andover, MA - Fully onsite

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of facility equipment, systems, and physical infrastructure. This role performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses and repairs equipment issues, and supports the ongoing functionality of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems. The Maintenance Technician helps minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment, machinery, and building systems to identify and address potential issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facility systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment malfunctions, including motors, pumps, lighting, and control systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
  • Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and facility upgrades.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal departments to complete specialized repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in facility, industrial, manufacturing, or equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical certification in maintenance, HVAC, electrical systems, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience working with building automation, control systems, or industrial equipment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment, tools, and materials in accordance with workplace safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at varying heights when required.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
  • Availability to work on-call, evenings, weekends, or shifts as needed to support emergency maintenance and operational requirements.

Work Environment
  • Work is performed in commercial, industrial, or facility environments.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, varying temperatures, and moderate noise levels may occur.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required based on job duties and safety requirements.
